melanoma, make up and fake tan
When I got diagnosed with melanoma, I said that there was one thing that I would do everyday which was to get up, put on my make up and face the world. One of the funniest was in Galway after I had the lymph node clearance surgery I had so many wires and tubes that I couldn't do my make up, so I asked my sister to pull around the curtains and come help, she still tells everyone this, thinks its hilarious 🙂 As treatment went on I was getting weaker and all I did was put on my make up and go to the couch. My make up never reacted any different to my skin which was great. My skin was relatively good during treatment. On the contrast as some of us girls love fake tan, my skin didn't take to it the way it did before. My normal build up tan went blotchy and orange. A year and a half later and coming up to the wedding I tried a lot of different tans and to this day tan that I would have worn before melanoma I can't wear now. Some people may be reading this and saying well she has little to be worrying about but for me it made me feel a wee bit better on days where I looked very sick. So for me the gradual build up tans do not seem to work anymore and the main tan I use now is cocoa brown 1 hour which I leave overnight or the cocoa brown dark tan. Tan organic also looks nice on my skin for a few days but does not come off that nice.
